TWT Reborn: 2006 2007-8 2009 2010 2012-13

The second generation of TWT began 6/23/06, with John Carroll as General Manager,
and ended early in 2008 (date uncertain). It continued to be slim, about 26 page, with
lots of colorful ads, and all in a nice-looking bar rag mode.

GAB Weekly,
a separate publication from TWT, but relevant to the history

The story takes a side trip at this point. From talking with some of the staff people, I have pieced together
that a publisher from Dallas hired away from TWT several of them to start a new publication, GAB Weekly.
First came Bob Dineen and Jimmy Smith, and by Issue 3 followed by John Carroll, Mario Mares and Skip
Bromfeld, therefore gathering about all the former TWT staffing.

Other than the name it was very similar to TWT, and began in March of 2008. The publishing dates on the
first five issues were not precisely listed, as if they were not sure when they would actually happen, but
that settled down after that. During October the magazine switched their website from www.gabweekly.com
to www.myspace.com/gabweekly, probably not a good omen. I understand the new owner was not able to
keep paying the bills, so the publication folded. If anyone can provide me the exact date of the last issue
I can add that to this summary. TWT was revived the next Spring, 2009, with publisher Rob Williamson,
who later sold it to Larry Davis.
