Interview with James T Sears on his book
"Rebels, Rubyfruit, and Rhinestones," 2001

In my opinion, if you want to read one single book in order to get an understanding
of Houston queer history up until the 1979 March on Washington, this is the book.
On the KPFT show "Lesbian & Gay Voices" (now called "Queer Voices) Jone Devlin
and I were fortunate to interview Dr. Sears shortly after the book's release, in
October 2, 2001.

Interview Quote (at 10:20): "If Stonewall was the match that started the modern
gay liberation movement, then Anita Bryant was really the wild fire that spread
across the entire country."
