This organization was founded basically as a vehicle to give Ray Hill an official
platform to speak out on gay issues at meetings, press conferences, etc.
As was stated in Bruce Remmington's college thesis below...

It was most visible around the end of 1982 and the beginning of 1983

Also of interest is that Ray Hill's phone number is also
listed for the Homophile Interfaith Alliance, which I believe
was also a useful vehicle for making points in public
