1979 March on Washington
for Lesbian & Gay Rights
October 14, 1979
Photo Gallery - Page 9

These photos were borrowed from the Botts Collection, and then digitized. They were taken
by Larry Butler. I need some help in identifying many of the people in them, especially some
of the pre-March rally speakers and performers, which is why I have numbered them.
If you can ID someone, please
email me with the name and photo number. Thanks!

Blackberri is one of our pioneering gay artists, appearing on the landmark LP
compilation "Walls to Roses," in 1979 and his own 1981 LP "Blackberri & Friends, Finally."
I got to interview him for my November 2001 QMH show, and every time I visit
San Francisco we end up having a three-hour lunch. At the MOW Rally he sang "Eat the Rich."
