2018

The January 3 Caucus meeting was a packed affair, with many candidates present who were
hoping to be considered at February's endorsement meeting, all getting their minute at the podium
to introduce themselves (taking over an hour).

Running for President were Mike Webb and Alexis Melvin. Voting gave an uneven
result of 71 to 17, with Mike Webb the winner. Four of the eight Board positions
were also decided (with four more expiring next year)

on 1/8/18 and you can Download that 16-minute interview

Below, coverage by Monica Roberts of the meeting

footnote: Demetria Smith was disqualified from her Governor run
in early January when her check for the registration fee bounced

Above right, also elected were Board Trustee Positions #2, #4, #6 & #8.
(odd number Positions are up for election next year)

History Note: while Mike Webb is the first genderqueer person elected to the Caucus presidency,
he has another (technical) distinction. In 1977 Jim Cotton became the first black man to be Caucus
President, but he succeeded due to a vacancy.....then-President Don Hrachovy had to resign due
his job (as an engineer) giving him an out-of-town assignment. So Cotton was not the first black
man 'elected,' which Mike Webb was.

below, a little discussion is good, right?

is the Caucus candidate for the Fall election.
Also, former Caucus President Fran Watson did not win and others not
successful were Josh Wallenstein
