I met Jim Baxter in October 1979, at the March on Washington, and both of us being affiliated with gay newspapers we hit it off immediately. This is a 1977 pic, but it matches my memory. We ran around a little at he March, as, we rangled an invitation to the offices of the Washington Blade. Hey, they already knew who we were.

Jim figures in my 1981 cross-country trip, as one of the first folks I visited...so, he's in an early chapter. And we kept in touch so I was able to bounce some stuff off him for the book....which by the way is called "1981."

We all got older, and this pic is from 2018.
