Sadly, due to COVID there were no showings
or new Banners during 2020

But for 2021 we already have one new Banner

An unexpected event occurred on April 14, 2021
Through the coordination of the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce
and the Houston Rockets there was
Pride Night!

Most of these photo were posted on Facebook by the
Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce
We thank them for their use

The Rockets produced a wonderful 1 minute 45 seconds video for the event

It featured two of our Banner Project heroes, Sara Fernandez and Kirk Baxter

This event was the debut appearance of the Banner for the late Monica Roberts

Christina Wells sang the Star Spangled Banner

And Sara and Kirk were singled out to the crowd

strick pandemic protecols were followed to limit attendence and spacing

And, thanks to Austin Davis Ruiz (at right) for providing us with this neat panorama shot

And, very special thanks to the Houston Rockets events team,
which exceeded our visions of professionalism and care in every way

On 6/14/21, for Pride Month Fox 26 Houston did two video segments
on the Montrose Center, with Executive Director
Ann Robison (LINK) on the Center, and historian JD Doyle (LINK),
talking about The Banner Project, each 1:51.

On 6/24/21 ABC 13 News with Pooja Lodhia interviewed Sara Fernandez,
Kirk Baxter and JD Doyle about the Banner Project. 2 minutes, LINK
